Men: Your Health Matters
Some people find out the hard way. Men who put off having a simple PSA test or ignore other signs may hear the words they never want to: You have advanced prostate cancer. June is Men’s Health Month. Take a moment to focus on your health…because the longer you wait to treat some common conditions, the worse they may become. Prostate Cancer: This diagnosis nearly always takes men by surprise. A simple blood test is the first step to finding prostate cancer early, when more treatment options are available. If it’s been more than a year, or you’ve never had a PSA test, learn why a PSA test is so important and if you should schedule one. Enlarged Prostate: Is your bladder signaling that something’s wrong? Ignoring an enlarged prostate, also called benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), can permanently damage your bladder. Multiple BPH treatment options are available, including many that are non-invasive and get you home the same day. Evaluate your symptoms with this simple quiz. Sexual Health: Regardless of your age, a healthy sex life is possible. Whether it’s erectile dysfunction, Peyronie’s Disease, low testosterone, or something else, you don’t have to live with it. Although sexual health issues may be uncomfortable to talk about, our physicians are helping men restore their sexual health every day. Remember, the longer you wait to treat many health conditions, the more serious they can become. |
On The Road with OAB
If you’re traveling with OAB, a little planning can go a long way:
Most importantly, know that help is available. Many people assume OAB is simply a normal part of aging and that they have to “just live with it.” That’s not true. Effective treatments range from lifestyle changes and pelvic floor therapy to medications and advanced therapies that can significantly improve quality of life. If your symptoms persist or interfere with daily activities, talk with a urologist. You don’t have to plan your life around the nearest restroom. With the right care, you can get back to enjoying the journey. |
