How PSMA PET/CT Scan is Performed
- An imaging tracing agent will be injected into your arm.
- You’ll relax for about an hour while the radioactive agent goes to work finding and attaching itself to prostate cancer cells.
- Next, you’ll lie still while the machine scans your prostate and other areas of your body to locate cancer cells. Once the scan is completed, you’ll be able to leave.
- Specialists will examine your scan and report their findings to your doctor.
